Safety instructions

• Circular blades are always very sharp both before and after use, and there is a risk of injury in case of improper handling.
• Our circular paper blades are furnished with an edge-guard by the manufacturer. This device can be removed only when the blade is put into operation. The same is true for the installation and removal of blades and when the machine is repaired in the area of the circular knife.
• While handling circular tools (transport, assembly, dismantling) you should wear personal safety devices such as boots resistant against cutting, safety footwear, and the like. You should observe these instructions even with the edge guard installed.
• The circular paper blade can only be used for the purpose described here. Other applications are inadmissible. Improper use can result in serious injury.
• Observe the instructions specified by the manufacturer.

Storage

• Unused blades should be stored lying on their side. Blades can be also stored on the mandrel in the central hole. Circular blades must never be stored upright on the front cutting edge, which is very sensitive to damage even with the guard on.
• Used blades should always be marked "použité" (used) or "opotřebované" (worn), (e. g. using a permanent marker), to avoid any confusion.
• Injuries can occur during deposit and removal. You should take this fact into account while choosing the place for storage and arranging it.
• The manufacturer furnishes its blades with a protective, anti-corrosion film. In spite of this, they should be stored in dry and closed rooms where temperature is kept at a moderate level.
• The edge guard must always be installed during deposit and removal as well as during storage.

Transport

• Make sure that circular blades are efficiently protected against mechanical damage during transport. Even if no visible damage caused by impacts during transport can be seen, the performance of the blade can be fully or partially reduced due to low tolerance.
• The blades are protected against corrosion using a special film, but they should be protected during transport even against humidity or moisture.
• The edge guard must always be installed during transport.

Assembly and disassembly

• Circular blades are produced with minimum tolerances, which can be achieved only at room temperature. That's why sufficient time for acclimatization before assembly is necessary if they are not stored at room temperature.
• The power must be off during the installation to prevent accidental switching on of the machine.
• All instructions given by the manufacturer, especially the safety instructions, should be observed.
• Use only proper tools for installation and disassembly.
• Absolute cleanliness is necessary while performing the installation. The flange and shaft of the machine must be carefully cleaned before the assembly.
• Circular blades are oiled against corrosion. The oil film must be thoroughly removed before installation. No impurities are permissible on the blade bore.
• You should use a suitable handling device during installation and dismantling. If manual handling is necessary, you should grasp the circular blade with your hand only in the area of the central hole.
• Peripheral accuracy of the flange and shaft should be checked using an indicator (watch) and it should correspond with the manufacturer's levels. We recommend keeping the value of side run-out of the flange at a maximum of 0.10 mm.
• CAUTION: The flange side run-out increases proportionally with the side run-out of the circular knife (measured from the edge). If the level of the flange side run-out is higher than 0.10 mm, unclean cuts can occur with the circular blade having the lowest tolerance for the side run-out as well as dust and the lifetime of the blade is reduced.
• After removal of the used blade and before the installation of a new one, the shaft and flange should be checked for damage. Damage could result in an increased side run-out of the flange.
• You should check the running of the shaft to avoid the possibility that the bearing is worn.
• You should check the exact adjustment of grinding stones (see manufacturer instructions). The angle between grinding stones should be 7° for one side; total 14° also check the run of the stones (worn bearings).
• The condition of the grinding stones should be checked as well. You can do this with your fingers, for example. If you feel a smooth surface when you touch it, the impurities on the grinding body should be removed. Grinding stone manufacturers offer suitable means. If the stones are worn, they must be replaced.
• The edge guard must always be installed during deposit and removal as well as during storage. You must wear personal safety devices (such as boots resistant against cutting, safety footwear).
