Bezpečnostní pokyny

  • Circular knives are always very sharp, whether before or after use, and serious injuries can occur if used improperly.
  • Our circular knives for paper are serially equipped with a blade guard by the manufacturer. It may only be removed when the knife is put into operation. This also applies to the assembly and disassembly of knives onto the machine or off the machine, and in the case of machine repair in the area of circular knives.
  • When handling circular knives (transport, assembly, disassembly), personal safety equipment such as cut-resistant shoes, safety shoes, etc. must be observed. This is true even when the blade guard is attached.
  • The circular knife for paper may be used for the purposes described herein. Other use is not permitted. Improper use can lead to serious injuries.
  • Follow the machine manufacturer's instructions

Storage

  • Unused knives should be stored on a side surface. It is also possible to store the knives on a mandrel in the center hole. Circular knives must never be placed upright on the front blade, which is very sensitive to damage even when the guard is attached.
  • Used knives should always be marked as "used" or "worn" (e.g. by a permanent marker) to avoid confusion.
  • Loading and unloading knives may result in injury. This should be taken into account when choosing a storage location and its equipment.
  • The manufacturer provides the circular blade with a corrosion protection film. However, they should be stored in dry, closed and tempered areas.
  • A blade guard must always be attached during loading and unloading as well as during storage.

Transport

  • During the transport of circular knives, care must be taken to ensure effective protection against mechanical damage. Even if, for example, transport impacts do not cause any visible damage, the knife performance may be partially or fully reduced due to small tolerances.
  • Although the knives are provided with a corrosion protection film, they should be protected from wetness or moisture during transportation.
  • The blade guard must always be attached during transport.

Assembly and disassembly

  • Circular knives are made with minimal tolerances, which can only be achieved at room temperature. Therefore, the knives must have sufficient time for acclimatization before assembly if they are not stored at room temperature.
  • During assembly and disassembly of the circular blade, the electric on the machine must be switched off to prevent inadvertent starting of the machine.
  • The machine manufacturer's instructions, especially safety regulations, must be observed.
  • Assembly and disassembly must only be carried out with suitable tools.
  • Absolute cleanliness must be observed during assembly. The flange and the machine shaft must be carefully cleaned before installation.
  • Circular knives are oiled against corrosion. Oil film must be removed before assembly carefully. The drilling knives must be absolutely free of dirt.
  • When handling during assembly and disassembly, a suitable handling device should be used as far as possible. If the circular blade has to be handled manually, it must only be taken by the center hole.
  • The circumferential accuracy of the shaft and flange should be checked with the indicator (watch) and should correspond to the manufacturer's specifications. We recommend keeping the maximum permissible flange runout to 0.10 mm.
  • ATTENTION: The runout of the flange of the machine increases proportionally with the runout of the circular blade into the stray (measured from the blade). With lateral flange runout of more than 0.10 mm, dirty cuts, dust formation and reduced knife life occurs with circular knives with the lowest lateral runout tolerance.
  • After the used knife is removed and the new one is installed, the shaft and flange of the machine should be checked for damage. Damage could cause the increased lateral runout of the flange.
  • Shaft running should be checked to avoid bearing wear.
  • It is necessary to check the exact setting of the grinding stones (according to the machine manufacturer).
The angle between the grinding stones and the circular blade should be 7 ° for 1 side, 14 ° overall. It is also necessary to pay attention to the operation of the grinding stones (wear of bearings).
  • The condition of the grinding stones should be checked. This can be done, for example, by finger. If the surface is smooth to the touch, the grinding body must be free of dirt. For this purpose, the grinding stone manufacturer offers the appropriate means. If the grinding stones are worn, they must be replaced.
  • The blade guard must always be attached during assembly and disassembly. Sufficient safety equipment (cut-resistant shoes, safety shoes) must be observed.
